INTRODUCTION :
The ABSOLUTE or HEPA filter is used to remove tiny particles from air and other gases. A HEPA filter must have a minimum efficiency of 99.97% in capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns (a micron is 1 millionth of a meter). The term 'HEPA FILTER'  stands for 'High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter'. HEPA Filters are made of Sub-Micronic glass fiber



filter paper which is water repellant and can withstand high temperature range of 250o C continuous and 500o C burst to a relative humidity range from 0-100%.

CLEAN ROOM FILTER :
Air filtration is the key to current cleanroom technology. Cleanroom cleanliness is measured by determining the number of particles of a given size per cubic foot of air, called the 'class' of the room. Another major fact of cleanroom performance is the amount of laminarity for Air Flow in the room. HEPA FILTER has contributed by providing Ultra-Clean environment and hospitals have also benefited from this technology. MECHFIL HEPA filters are able to remove Sub-Micron organisms reducing the probability of infection, especially in sensitive areas.

ATOMIC POWER REACTORS :
The HEPA was developed by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to filter out  Sub-Micron particles. All true HEPA is DOP / Laser Tested and must remove a minimum of 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 microns in size. A human hair is about 300 times too big to go through a HEPA filter.
Most of the filters sold by the company are manufactured for use in ventilating
systems of Atomic Power Reactors & Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing facilities. The filters are used primarily as safety devices to remove minute irradiated particles (particles carrying radiation) which might be released into the atmosphere. Therefore MECHFIL HEPA filters are a key part of the process called 'Radioactive containment'.


WHY USE MECHFIL PRE-FILTERS ?
Pre-Filters remove lint  and other large particles from the air stream, and will significantly extend MECHFIL HEPA Life and reduce operating cost. The less costly Pre-Filters can be economically replaced several times during the life of a MECHFIL HEPA.

HEPA FEATURES :
1.
Butt joined edges are sealed and fastened to ensure a strong corner joint.
2. Standard foam sealant expands into the media and secures separator ends eliminating voids and possible leakage.
3. Special interlocking dove-tail gaskets are provided on all MECHFIL Filters for increased protection against leakage.
4. Sufficient pleats to provide a 'solid pack' which eliminates shifting of media and assures more surface area, lower media velocity and longer life.
5. Each MECHFIL is individually packaged in a heavy-duty carton consisting of an outer shell and inner liner, fabricated from multiply corrugated board. Each carton is marked with filter style code and size. 
6. DOP test.
